Now that I'm done with homework...

  • Aug. 19th, 2008 at 8:14 PM
... Which was reading this entire time... I'll explain my schedule.

United States History I: A pretty... strange class. He says he doesn't go by "Roman numerical, A, B, C format". I'm not quite sure much about this class... It sounds more focused on the concept of history rather than the events of history. I dunno... Guess I'll see how it goes.

General Psychology: Seems like a cool guy. He opened the class with a question of "Do you think people are more angry now than they were 100 years ago?" It was pretty interesting. I like this class the most so far I'd say. I only wish the room would change, since we're in an awful tiny room.

Abnormal Psychology: The professor didn't show up. There was someone else there, who took roll and handed out the syllabus.

Spinning: We didn't do anything for the first day, of course, just told what we're to be prepared for. I think it'll be pretty good.

The only thing that kinda sucks is... there's a lot of reading to do. I had to get a text book for every class (except spinning of course, but seeing as History needed two text books... Yeah...)

Also, I love Valve so damn much.

I feel

So impersonal and out of myself too often. Where has all the time gone? Where has my self expression fled?

Bleh. I've been reduced to only identifying with with Cat and Girl as of late. What happened to my own manifestation of emotions? What happened to my own art?

I need to do something. Something!

I've been so wrapped up with feminism and work and being upset and annoyed for everything. I haven't let any of that out in my own medium. What happened to that? Where has the time gone?

Maybe this is just 6 am blues. I wish my hair felt nice for once, but its just falling all over the place and losing its sheen.

I wish I could just translate that which keeps me awake at night into a Morrissey-esque song. But I'll never be that talented.

Whatever. I'd post another Cat and Girl but the damn site is down.

Coolege

First day and I already spent most of it screwing around instead of reading. Good thing I'm reading now! Way I've got it planned is to read about 5 pages of the Psych book (it's huge) a day, and... well, figure out what the deal is with the reading for the History books are. The teacher for History is pretty strange. I guess I'll sit through more of his classes to see what's up with it.

I'd write more, but I wanna get this reading done soon...
I'm not too thrilled with going to bed at 11 to wake up at 8:30. But ah, such is a schedule...

... NOT THAT THAT WORD IS IN THE DICTIONARY OF COOLEGE!!!!!!!!!!!11 PARTY ONNNNNNNNN

But seriously, good night.

Writer's Block: Six-Word Story

  • Aug. 15th, 2008 at 6:05 PM

Hemingway was once challenged to write a story in only six words. His response? “For sale: baby shoes, never worn.” He is believed to have called it his greatest literary work ever. Can you write a story in six words?

Now I can finally get around to play this Phoenix Wright game everyone is talking about. But really, this is a great game. I only wish I played it back when it was pretty new, but it's still fun. Maybe I should play it on my laptop while I'm gone this weekend to show my dad, him being an attorney and all.

Speaking of which, today was my last real... summer day you could say. Tomorrow I'll be packing up a bit and leave around six to Gilroy for the weekend again. I should be back on Sunday, but going to bed early, since I start school the next day.

Oh, I also saw the first episode of World Destruction the other day. It's a cool anime. It's an anime that's going to be a game later on which has a lot of people that worked on Chrono Trigger and Xenogears working on it, so I'm sure it'll be good. Check it out if you'd like, you can find a lot of stuff on Youtube and Wikipedia.

Or because you're lazy, here:

Is it strange that after watching this...

... I'm even more regretful that I never bought God Hand?

Luckily, it appears that there are some (used, of course) available at some nearby Gamestops. Maybe I'll check that out.

As cliche as it sounds (verbosity aside) I really, really don't think formal education is for me.

Damn I wish I had time to comment on this!

Man, first it goes from "happy to be home" to suddenly "kind of bordish". I had a list of things to do, but it fell through, so I'm probably gonna make myself do them tomorrow (today?). Still wanna get some stuff done before school starts, but... with weekends absolutely gone for now, I dunno.

Oh, and habanero popcorn is delicious. Yep.

Back for the week

Whew, well, quite some hard work. It wasn't as hot as I thought, which was nice. Still, did a lot of carrying, holding, and even some drr-drr-drr-drilling. I still had time for workshops though, and was even able to finish a book a friend of mine loaned me.

Now then... wow, classes start next week... I've gotta return the book to Sam, hopefully hang out with [info]itslily (even if it's just for a half hour or something, right? :P), beat this game I was almost done with (because it'll drive me crazy if I don't), and... get prepped for school I guess.

and ANOTHER thank you

I am consistently pleasantly surprised that people that I don't even know in real life are some of my best friends in the world. They're some of the least judgemental, most helpful, most caring, and most kickass funny people I know.

[info]boogabooga_xx , you are my Winchester sister, and I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your gift. You totally brightened my horrible week, and you DID put a smile on my face. A big smile. Thank you so much. Keep being one of the most amazing people I know. I'm so glad we met! Well, on LJ. :D Someday we're going to have to get together and cause havoc.

WIN. :x

also, been meaning to post these lyrics because I rediscovered how much I love them. Video to compliment for those who don't like words.

Open my eyes as I submerge
and I won't deny what I've been since birth.
I'll die drowned by your standards.
Breathe in the life of the summmer's death as the orange
and red breathe their first breath,
so welcome as they're burning through.
We all begin to burn.
Autumn's flame dance's in my eyes
Set alight for all we've learned.
My ashes falling.
My skin is singed but it heals my heart
and with glowing pride I'll wear my scars.
I'm honored by your hatred.
Leaves fall we arise again,
and the end impending,
it will begin.
So welcome as it's burning through.
Ashes fall and I'm rising up again. Ashes fall.
Ashes fall. Ashes fall as we all arise.

So nice, I'll post it twice.

One of the perks of going to these workshops this weekend and the next (and possibly more...) is that eventually, I'd be getting a job there. And job equals money. With said money, I'm already thinking of things to get, but of course, with the things I'm into, I've gotta choose one. Though I'm pretty much set on one thing.

An X-Box 360. Yes, finally.

Unfortunately, I know diddily squat about the 360, other than it's green, the games it plays, doesn't have quite as good graphics as PS3, has wireless controllers, and has some online thing (but that's about it). So I went to look at the different types of 360s.

wat? Yeah, I have no idea what all this means. As long as it can save data, play games, and let me play online with friends, I don't need anything else.
